Furniture is one of the most important aspects of our homes. It not only provides comfort and function, but it also adds to the overall aesthetic of our living spaces. When shopping for furniture, many people opt for pieces made from wood. Wood furniture is classic and timeless, and it can be found in a variety of styles to suit any taste. But have you ever wondered how wood furniture is made?
The wooden furniture manufacturing process
A careful selection of high-quality wood
The first step in making wood furniture is to select the right type of wood. There are many different kinds of wood, and each has its own unique set of characteristics. For example, solid oak wood is strong and durable, making it ideal for pieces that will see a lot of use, like dining room tables and writing desks. Softer woods like pine and poplar are better suited for less-used pieces, like end tables and accent chairs. Our wood has an FSC label which is a certification label that is used on products that contain wood from well-managed forests. When you see the FSC label, you can be confident that you make responsible purchasing decisions that support the conservation of the world’s forests.
Trimming and sanding wood
Once the wood has been selected, it must be cut to the correct size and shape. This is done using a variety of tools, including saws, lathes, and routers. The pieces are then sanded smooth and finished with a stain or paint. At SFD Furniture Design, we do not use toxic substances during the entire production process.
Hand assembly of furniture
After the piece is complete, it must be assembled. This is usually done by attaching the various parts to each other using screws, nails, or glue. Our furniture is handmade in Poland by local small manufacturers. Once the furniture is assembled, it is ready to be used and enjoyed for years to come. We take care of nature and the entire life cycle of the product, that’s why production waste is reused or disposed of appropriately.
Delivery straight to your Home
The final stage is, of course, the delivery of the furniture to your home. The comfort and satisfaction of our customers are the most important to us, which is why we inform you about the delivery process at every stage. When you buy furniture at SFD Furniture Design, you don’t have to worry about anything – we will deliver the ordered furniture (with the dimensions given in the offer) straight to your home.
